I am a new member to this forum, but I have been reading a lot of topics here and elsewhere and it seems more and more people out there that are getting these new diesel or even new trucks are starting to take Pride In Ownership.

I have seen a lot of people asking questions on how to do things or what to use on their truck.

Now I am not ragging on anyone in anyway for asking questions. I think this is great. Get involved with it. It is a great hobby.

Repair work is expensive if taken to a shop to have repaired when not under warrenty. The more you know the better off you are when driving down a empty road with no cell phone service and your truck sputters and dies. Come to find out your fuel filter is full of water. By reading these forums and learning your vehicle you were able to fix this problem or avoid having a problem like this.

Keep up the good work and keep the questions comming.

Welcome a board! I have always taken pride in my trucks as well as my woodworking equipment and other tools.

One thing you will notice. The majority of people posting in these forums take better care of there trucks then the average person. Don't get me wrong, there are many people that do not use the world wide web that Al Gore startedhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif and they still take pride in things they own.

SpoolinTurbo,

I have lived here for 35 years and have been able to find a few places that dabble in our hobby. I will be glad to help you out if I can or maybe you can help me find some places as well.

hdmax,

Thanks for the greating. I just like to read these topics that people ask for help in areas that they are not familiar with and then get all kinds of replies back helping them out instead of just taking it in and having someone else fix it for them.

As simple as changing the oil. Simple questions for someone who is used to it, but for someone that is new to it, it can be a little intimidating. I really have a hard time paying someone to change my own oil. It gives me time to get under there and figure things out and do some other maintanance that would not have been done at a Lube shop.
