: rattle noise from turbo area while engine is cold nascarfancar8 10-31-2006, 09:47 AM has anyone experienced a rattle noise coming from the area around the turbo? it happens at every start up and continues until the engine gets heat into it. and it gets louder if i push up on the downtube. while it is happening and i turn off the engine you can hear the noise spin down. the dealer says that a bulletin is out for something about turbo residue. can anyone direct me in the right direction. it is getting worse by the week. thanks Ed 2manytoys 12-02-2006, 08:15 PM did you find out what the noise was mine started making the same noise. thanks 2500hd05 12-07-2006, 01:27 PM is that where the noise is coming from? i couldnt figure it out. mine only does it when its cold out and it engine is cold Romark1 12-07-2006, 04:06 PM Are you sure you didn't get in a Ford by mistake?? :D Spitz 12-07-2006, 09:26 PM Mine makes the same rattle, engine has to be cold though and idling in gear with my foot on the brake it rattles in the area of what seems to be the passenger side firewall/footwell area. 05duramax073 12-07-2006, 10:10 PM Mine only does it right after i start it up and then goes away after 3-4 seconds.
