Since the new stage 3 install I get a scratchy or scrubbing (hard to explain), sound from the trans. when running WOT a little in 4th and more so in 5th. Seems to happen mostly around the mid point of each gear. Maybe around 80-90 in 5th. Am I the only one to hear this?

Make sure your down pipe bracket isn't cracked and the heat shield isn't rattling near the muffler, mine did ... You'd be surprised the things that get touched when you or others are working under there ...

I had a funny noise to for quite awhile in higher RPM's .... Then when I was spinning on the dyno we could smell a heavy aroma of Pane and smoke under the hood .... http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

I discovered my V-clamp was lose after one time we removed the down pipe for easier access to the starter ,not necessary by the way to remove ...

I have heard a Suncoast multi disc Converter rattle at idle ,only ,sounds quite metallic ....

I have not heard any noises on any of my Allys.Like Mac says, an ocassional rattle at idle but nothing else. I hate noises, they sometimes mean trouble. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif

Drove it some more tonight and determined this sound is happening right at 2100 RPM sometimes in 4th and always in 5th. Soon as I get over 2100 the sound is gone. It is maybe more of a vibration sound the more I hear it. Could not find anything wrong looking under the truck. Any more ideas?

Does it matter if your in Tow Haul or not ?? Does the Attitude show converter lock up when the noise occurs ?? Or no lock up ??

I gotta assume it's converter noise ...

It was doing it tow haul or not. Took it by the trans. shop that did the work and let the tech. drive it to see what he thought. He did not believe it was from the trans., but rather a vibration from something else. We put it up on the lift and he thinks it is coming from the exhaust brake. This brake has always made some jangling noise at idle to low RPM at times, but this high RPM sound is new. Possible the new trans. emits a different vibration than the stocker? If that's all it is I am happy cuase it sticks er to the ground now.
