Anybody used a roll back type trailer? I was looking at a tilt bed from H&H Trailer (http://www.hhtrailer.com), but they wouldn't do the custom work I wanted. I want a box built on the front for storage. Has anybody seen a Roll-Back type trailer such as the ones made by Texas Roll-Back (http://www.texasroll-back.com). Any thoughts or advice about this type of trailer. I know some semi trailers for heavy equipment are made this way.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

They are nice but it would add considerable to the weight of the trailer because of the need for two seperate frames. (one for bed and one for trailer)

My friend who races aCorvette has a Texas trailer. Went to Texas to get it actually. we mounted a tool box to the front of the bed that was made to go into a pick up. I think it was a Delta under rail box. He loves the trailer. In 4 years, we have easily put over 40k miles on it. He has had 2 problems with it. One the drawer to hold extra straps fell off somewhere, not sure where as we never saw it go. And the fenders bounce and crack the welds. We end up checking these after every long trip.

I have seen the one trailer dealer around our area had a rollback trailer with a box on the front just like you describe. If I get to that side of town I will see if it is still there and who made it.

I had a Quick Load roll back 20' about 10 years ago to haul single Porsches. I loved it. Light, super easy to load the lowest car. Would have kept it forever, except I loaned it out and he tried to load a 12,000 forklift on it, rolled to the front, and bent the tongue as well as tearing his hitch off. His insurance paid, and I sold the trailer cheap. Have often thought about buying another one and selling my 24' enclosed triple axle, which is heavy and bulky. Trouble is, I haul other stuff than cars occasionally. Roll back was great!!
