: Stacking and Allison Shifting

I see posts refering to the Allison shifting and learning, and early on even inquired as to whats happening.

Here is my first hand experience with stacking boxes for the last few months. The Allison "learning mind" does not like changing power levels, period. What I mean by that is every time I change power levels, the Allison starts shifting oddly. This happens especially if I reinstall the power box. I will get flairs and odd shifts etc. It doesn't matter whether I drive normal or "race". Apparently the tranny shifting is related to the throttle position which I figure is changing with power levels. About the time the tranny relearns I get the erge to screw with the power levels.

I know this has been mentioned before on this site, but it annoys me so much I felt it was worth rementioning.

I need to the leave the power on one level http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gifEdited by: gmccall

Mine does the same thing. I have a BD dyno dominator on level 4 and a power pup on 3. The trans got better real fast, but is it ok when it feels right or am i tearing it up? i only have 2500 miles on it but I run a trans shop and am thinking of a transgo kit. Or will the dealer warranty it. Anyone try to get warranty with this much additonal power?

How would you feel if one of your customers did that to you?

Mike-i agree,i wouldn't like it. I am just addicted to my new found power http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gifand don't know what i should do. If I upgrade my trans will it last 30-40000 miles of abuse till i get a different truck? My converter co. says they have a heavy duty ally conv. but I am scared of it after talking to the guy at tts. I just cant get used to the thought of a $1000 + conv. Yea, I know gotta pay to playhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif I would definatly do the work myself. Glen at transgo is telling me how great it will work.

Tranny may shift at odd times and it may hang in a higher gear while city street driving. No stuttering or slipping feel.

It's starting to relearn though, and hopefully will be ready for the track real soon. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif
