Gents,
I am thinking of purchasing and installing the Pioneer AVIC-Z1 in my 2003 D/A 2500HD Chevy extended cab truck. Anyone install this unit? Just wondering if anyone has the ins and outs of installing one of these units.
Thanks,
Chris

I am in the process of installing the Pioneer AVIC-Z1 (I broke down and purchased one). Two questions; there is a face plate included with the head unit how does it fit as it seems quite loose to me? I need to cover the edges of the unit other wise there will be open space between the dash cover opening and the unit. Second I purchased the IPod adapter and the AUX adapter (CD-RB20). When I plug the IPod adapter in it works. When I plug the AUX adapter into the IPod adapter I have no AUX input. Anyone have any experience with the AUX adapter? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I was able to resolve the AUX issue. If you add an AUX adapter to the AVIC-Z1 ensure you go into the unit and turn on the AUX port. It is found in the Audio setup menus.

I still have the question remaining as to the easiest way to fill the edges around the unit. I bought the Metra 99-2003 kit however the double din filler seems to be to tight for the unit.
