Ok guys. Being kinda new to the dmax and all, what the heck is a lift pump? Is it like an electric fuel pump or what. Can someone explain what it is, any benefits?, and do I need one? I got my Edge, gauges are coming this week, and I guess I'm gonna put on an pre oem fuel filter. Do i need this too? This truck is costing me more in extras (ok so I really didnt NEED the Edgehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Rock On.gif) than I'm saving in fuel costs.
Thanks for the info in advance!!

A lift pump is basically an auxillary electric pump that is used to push fuel forward to the front of the truck. The factory system has proved lacking when substantially increasing the power. There are many to choose from. I went with the FASS system from Diesel Performance Products. It has two filters integral to the pump. You can see pics of it...just click the link in my sig.
Preporator is another that is very similar to the FASS.
Kennedy Diesel also sells pump and filter kits separately.
