GOT A BRAIN BUSTER FOR YA GUYS TO POSSIBLY HELP ME WITH. 95 1-TON 65TURBO. HERES THE PROBLEM START ENGINE SOMETIMES IT WILL IDLE FINE , SOMETIMES IT GOES TO 2500-4000RPM.ACCELLERATOR HAS NO EFFECT AND 5V AND SIGNALS FROM ALL 3 SWITCHES READ NORM. ONLY 2 PARAMETERS ARE OFFDES INJ TIMING SHOULD BE 3.5-6.0 BUT IS 9.2. AND FUEL RATE IS SUPPOSED TO BE 7-12 MM3 BUT ACTUALLY IS 2.6. ANY BODY DEALT WITH THISBEFORE OR HAVE ANNY SUGGESTIONS?

Have you tried unplugging the optical sensor or CPS?

Does the key shut it off when it happens or does it keep running?

WALLA! UNPLUG THE OPTICAL SENSOR AND IT RUNS A LITTLE ROUGH BUT DOES NOT ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. ITS NOT SOLD SEPERATLY .CAN YOU PULL IT OUT AND POSSIBLY CLEAN IT?

sounds like your optic sensor is at fault, the sensor on your high res track is losing count keeping the fuel solenoid closed longer and delivering more fuel than desired, seen that happen a couple times before. not likely you could find a small enough squeegy to get in there and clean the lens, but its probably not the lens even, more likely the electric eye inside is at fault and you need a new optic sensor. which you might be able to replace yourself...if your brave enough and if someone will sell you one. Some posts on here people claim to have paid $3000-$5000 US by the time the mechanic gets finished.
