Where are you guys installing the probe? I was told to get a transmission temperature manifold from Autometer and hack in to the inlet line from the transmission to the radiator. Sound about right? Also what size are the tranmission cooling lines? 3/8's or 5/16's? Thanks

What is your purpose for installing another gauge? The factory unit is as good as it gets for sump temps,+ OR - 5 deg. That is all we are looking for. Installing a temp gauge in line ( coming out of the converter you may see 300+ deg) which means nothing to us since the fluid just came out of the converter and has been multiplying tq. It is at its hottest stage at that point. Coming out of the trans cooler it better be a lot cooler. If this is the temp you are looking for, I would hook the sensor as close to the trans as possible in line (return) to make sure you got every bit of cooling possible (including heat sink effect from the lines) to see temps just before it dumps into trans. Fluid will be cooler when your factory guage reads it because it mixed with fluid in sump. Don't know what you are looking for but I hope this helps.
