Here is my 165,000:eek: mile report!

Other than CEL caused by using using an AFE drop in filter my only other failures have been 2 rear axle seals, and a power mirror. I have been fighting a vibration problem for about 70k and still can not get it fixed. I also have the squeaky belt problem, but have not had any time to look into it. I am still on the original brakes with better than 50% left. Second set of tires are also about 50%. All maint has been done by the book or the drivers info center. I have been using Rotella T and and Napa Gold Filters (thanks Fleetfilter.com). In the rear I have been using Royal Purple, and the trans is on Transynd.

So far the truck has held up pretty well, sounds a bit louder at start up than it did before, but heck I guess its finally getting broke in.

I was hoping to be about halfway to where you are, but the Censored insurance still wont get back with me, so I haven't been working for a couple of months now.

Nothing at all. Tried an AFE filter and just kept getting codes, so I went back to stock.

That's awesome I don't even have 43000 on my 04. As far as the vibration goes on my 1996 z71 the vibrations always came from u-joints on the driveshaft to the front wheels. i could be completely wrong, but that sounds like a good starting place to look.

Jason

I use tow/haul and set the cruise. I usually tow around 63-65 to try and get some fuel economy (I used to just go 5 over the posted, but 70-75 just sucks down fuel). Empty I usually run 5-7 over the posted, but not usually over 75. My vibration starts to get bad around 75.

No, totally stock. I have been waiting for the Edge to come out. Now I just want to see how the MPG gains are. I did real well on my Dodge with an Edge EZ.

Hope it still goes well for you Haulin. I quit Horizon in Mar, fuel high wages low. Didn't work for me anymore. Truck mostly sits in the drive now. only 43,000 on it but never a prob. When ya wear it out you can buy mine all set to go .LOL Be Safe.

Since it is still stock (no Finger and egr block) and over 160k on the ODO, Is your oil real black from the soot issue people are talking about?

Well I guess at your mileage it does...I didn't know if you ran external filters..I know the powerstrokes do horribly since I service alot of my customers F-450's (railroad vehicles - idle for hours)

i have 181500 on mine. bought it used with 179000. i'll never see over 5000 to 8000 a year. probably crazy to buy one with that many miles but it was in perfect condition. ive had a few problems with the ac but its been great. 16,000$ i just had to have it. i could have waited to get one with fewer miles but didnt want to pay any more.

Wow haulin-rv that is awesome. My 2006 LBZ has about 5950 miles on it. Glad to see yours doesn't use any oil, gives inspiration for us all. How do you drive your truck, I'm asking about warm-up time, cool-down time how you drive it when it's cold, everything, I want to know.

I really don't do anything special. If possible I try to let it cool down after a long highway hall before shut off. Other than that I just get in and go. My truck does see a bunch of idle time, gotta stay comfortable when parked for the night.

Haulin what kind of tires are you using? 165000 mi and you are only halfway through your 2nd set. I know duals will run more miles but I can't even get close.

Factory goodyears went like 97k, and I now have michelins. I usually get 100k out of a set. But remember my miles are all highway.
