Hey Guys-

I now have a little over 63,000 miles on my 03 and Last month on My steering started to squeak(slow turns, fast turns-even making a slow turn on the Highway) well come to find out, my Power steering ran out of fluid-completely empty. I added fluid and there was a minor squeak until this weekend, now I can hear a rubbing sound when ideling down the road and hard squeak when my truck is cold. I'm due to go to the dealer today any thought of what it might be b-4 I go?

Thanks

Where was it leaking out? Hydrobooster? There is a TSB/recall on 03 hydroboosters ~ just a guess/place to look.

Run your hand under the hydroboost/brake master cylinder to see if its wet ~ Also, IIRC someone had the leak going down the inside of the firewall. Perhaps someone else can jump in w/first hand experience? Edited by: ShumDit

63,000miles on a 2model yr old truck ~ you must be a hauler? Re the moonie ~ the sheetmetal on mine is so flimsy, can't see how it could support one.

Please get back w/the dealers conclusions/solutions

Thanks

<LABEL id=HbSession SessionId="1271420196">63,000 in 15 months isn't bad, but I had such good luck with, as it turns out there is a minor leak(like a drip) and the pump/hydroboost situation, so theyu are going to change the pump out and I will just monitor the leak periodically. So $600 bones later I guess I'm cured!</LABEL>

Guess What Guys. My dealership called me yesterday and they said that I didn't have to replace the powersteering pump, just the belts had to be tightened.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif I was happy. I go there an hour ago to go and pick up my truck and they went to go and bring it around, and as they were driving it the squeak was still there.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif, So we drove it and come to find out, the Hub and Bearings were shot on the driver front wheel and it was a bout ready to come off.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Dead.gif The dealership drove my truck for 3 days and never heard that squeak until I was there. So it wasn't the power steering, my driver side wheel was about ready to fall off. Lovely, HUH!?!

Any way

Take care guys!

So let me ask a dumb question....are they NOT going to charge you for diagnosing and tightening the belts?

<LABEL id=HbSession SessionId="3344709661"></LABEL>My dealer knows me just as well as I know them, I buy all my Trucks from them Company and Personal trucks, I feel it was an honest mistake, but unfortunatly a mistake that would have totaled my truck. Some finacial considerations will have to be taken into affect.

I still trust them.
