Has anyone installed the C.B. bracket from Merchant Automotive? If you have, was it easy to install?

Thanks,
Dic

The bracket that Merchant Automotive is designed to bolt on the front fender under the hood by the cowl. It's a great place to put the antenna, that's what I used.

I used it and it works great. In fact the CB shop I use ordered several after he saw it.

It took 3 x longer to get the plastic trimmed to fit than to install the bracket.

Thanks for the input on the C.B. Bracket. UPS is showing my C.B. Bracket will be here Monday. Sunday I spend some time trying to figure out how to run the coax cable. Well, after some time I found my self getting beat up so, does any one have any idles.

Thanks,
Dic

I also recommend a quick connect fitting on the antenna. Otherwise the car wash will screw it up. (Note: this IS the voice of experience!)

I used a mini plug cable and 90 degree mount. Much smaller in diameter than the normal. I was able to slit the wiring boot and get it through.

I carry a cresent wrench and spin off the antenna before running through the wash.

I have a 3' Francis on mine, the smaller diameter of the Francis antenna helps it blend in a little easier. Plus it works better than the Firestick that I had on it origionally.
