I don't think you need a truck.

I'd personally shy away from them. They've got that ugly "big" thing going for them, they use way too much fuel, the engine block and heads have no problems with them, and what's with the whole excessive torque and towing capacity? I mean, you Really don't need to be able to carry that much stuff, do you?

You should look into a Scion (http://www.scion.com/).

They sound more your style anyway.

Well Don

Do some research here and else where to make your own decision ....

If you narrow your search down to the Duramax diesel and Allison transmission then you have come to the right place for information ...

The Aluminum head in the Duramax is a non issue and is holding tremendous amount of our hot rodding upgrades and turbo boost PSI ...We have come along way in technology and it's my belief you'll be seeing more of the same in the future ...

Read the forum and ask questions ...

Amazing, I guess the leading manufacturers of aluminum heads for the high performance industry such as Edelbrock, World, Ford Racing, Mopar Performance,CFE, Merlin, ETC.... who build parts for the fastest, NOS injected, blown, cars in the world and have hundreds of years combined automotive engineering experience have all been wasting their time with aluminum parts, you really should call them and let them know. You stated in one of your many replies to YOURSELF that you worked in marine engineering industry, then you should understand the negative effects of salt water on non anodized aluminum and that being the reason for the marine industry wisely choosing not to use aluminum for heads. Oh, and I don't think technicaly swabbing decks can be considered in the "marine engineering" field.
