im not sure if i like these chrome things on the underside of the truck, are they necessary? can i take them off? they are the things that hook the the back axle and come forward.

Sounds like trac bars or ladder bars. If so, they can be removed, but you main get some additional axle wrap or wheel hop.

what is axle wrap? as far as wheel hop, i dont care about that as i dont race my truck,
