Doolie rims 2 front 2 for the back stock tires mounted, balanced, and all that stuff for 700 bucks? They are made by American Racing and look pretty cool but need another opinion. Brand new in box...

Sounds good to me? The prices I've seen are twice that. Some one might know more about american racing. I've been shopping Acolas

when replacing stock rims with aftermarket do I get 6 rims or just four?

Most kits I've seen are just four. But I think I would want all six myself.

get 6 if you can aford it becouse rotating tire gets to be a pain having to take tires off and remount them to keep the new rims on the outside

You don't use (6), as the aftermarket rims are thicker then the stock steel rims & will not work in pairs on the back hubs. They are hub centric and they sit on a small section of the rear spindle for alignment. If you mount a thick aftermarket type rim on the inside there will not be any section left to properly align the out side rim. Now that I have said that, some one will say you can use Stud & Nut centric type aftermarket rims with wheel spacers in between them. And yes some people have done that so they could put six aftermarket rims on a dually, but I have not seen to many that are polished on both sides of the rim. Also most of the nicer rims are not even made to be used on both front & backs.

Unless your funds are unlimited inside wheels are a waste , you can't keep them clean and polished , I just put on a set of Budniks and they are polished and finished in and out. Hub centric is a MUST ,the steel inners are just fine. I went 120 thou on my rears and never rotated , I did wear the outside duals out first and move the fronts back and bought new front tires , rotating (IMO) is a waste of $$ on a dually. I am selling the Weld wheels and will Photograph them soon and put them up. You can see everything in the Garage.

Thanks for all of the replys everyone...I guess for 700 bucks I will try em and if I dont like em just get rid of them. From what I have read American Racing is a lower end rim company can anyone confirm or deny this?

Thanks

Dusky203 , they are OK , However check the load rating , there are a bunch of wheels out there not even rated as high as stock .

Looks like I will go ahead and get them this morning. I will check the load rating as that was one of my concerns. The dealer called me yesterday and said for 700 bucks he will mount, balance, and everything else so I don;t think I can go wrong with this. I will keep my old ones just incase. Its funny the one thing I hated about my truck was the wheels and could never figure out why GM never put nicer ones on. Well i wont have to worry bout that anymore!
