This is on a Third Generation Dodge 4x4. The kit basically is a set of spacers that mount on top of the coil springs. Takes a few hours to do.

Alignment is mandatory to get caster angle in spec and longer shocks are recommended to avoid over extension.

Before Pic...

The first step is to block the rear wheels and apply the emergency brake.

Place jack stands just behind the axle links by jacking under the center of the front axle, to the left of the pumpkin (on the axle tube).

Remove the wheels.

At this point it's extremely important to remove certain components BEFORE lowering the axle with the floor jack.

Remove both stabilizer bar links at the top... use a wrench below the bushing to minimize torque on the small ball joint.

Remove (3) shock tower nuts from both sides and remove the lower shock mount bolts.

Mark the springs for factory index re-install.

Lower the axle taking care not to break the brake lines. Optionally you can unbolt the line retainer bracket but I was careful and didn't have a problem.

Remove the springs.

I found out later that I had to remove the track bar bolt because the right side would not drop low enough without removing it.

Along with the springs comes a damper ring and a retainer ring. The retainer does not get re-used. Save it for possible return to stock configuration.

Prepare the spacers by intalling the studs with locktite and slipping the dampers inside, between the spring and the spacers.

Hoot,

Sure DOES LOOK GOOD. That was a lot of work and took some skill. Good going. Looks like you will need longer mud flaps to keep junk from hitting the side of the truck.

Wondering if there is a functional side to the lift. Any speculation on whether the aerodynamic change will affect fuel mileage? ... alignment (even though you said it "requires" none")? ... stability?Edited by: captainmal

Thanks guys...

Ride feels exactly the same. She looks like a beast now. Functional? I did it for looks but it'll probably come in handy with the snow plow.

Not bad for a truck that's practically stock.. who needs green keys? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

It really doesn't take a lot of know how to do. The hardest part was shifting the axle 1/4" or so to get the track bar hole to line up. I ended up under the truck with my foot holding the track bar and forcing the axle over with a big steel digging bar. Edited by: hoot
