2004.5 Started occosionally, but progressively getting worse. After driving (short or long distance) I put into park, open door(NEVER happens until I open the door) and start to exit truck while still running,....truck Dies!!!!!WTF??? Contacted stealer, taking it in Monday to have it checked along with "dry knuckle" problem with steering column, loud vibration under dash when stepping on brake, and to see if they have a resolution for under powered steering pump.....sorry, got carried away

Anyone hear of the problem of dying problem when putting into park??? I do have an Edge w/t Attitude if that makes a difference.....

is it when putting it into park or opening the door in park?if its the door do you have a alarm sounds like its killing the engine theft.if not im not sure:think:

It's that new Butt-in-the-seat or your truck dies sensor which is being required by the NTSB. ):h

No butt seriousley folks.....Could it be a problem with the Neutral Safety Switch?? Just A thought there.

I'm curious to know myself, it's happened to me a few times, it's really weird.

No alarm system.....

I was told by someone that there might be a govenor that regulates the amount of fuel to the engine when putting into park that is acting up?????

When I mentioned this to the service manager, he looked at me real stupid:confused: .

When i find out what it is i will post...

Think I found the problem:D

Truck completely died while driving to the deer camp Friday. Would not start. Got out and disconnected Edge. Started right up.

While removing Attitude console for my trip to dealer in the morning, found rough spot in wire around door jam:rolleyes: . I stripped it back and found bare spot on internal wire, hince every time I would open door, wire would rub to ground.:cool:

Still taking to dealer for other issues, but will splice wire and re install sometime this week.
