hey guys can i run just my front pipe for a little while until i save some money to get the rest of the pipe welded up. Or will that hurt something.

as with most metals shock cool it and it will crack or warp, i could be wrong, nwpadmax is the expert , what do you think, 700 to exposed 30 deg?

Well, I think of "shock cooling" as throwing water on something.
Air has such a low thermal mass that it takes a hell of a lot of it to cool anything. I don't think it would be a problem under normal circumstances. You don't hear of pullers running twins with a stack out the hood having cracking issues, and they go from 150F to probably 1000F+++ and back pretty quick.
My guess is that you're not going to hurt the truck doing it. Until I hear otherwise ):h

I ran it for one week (front pipe only.) I crushed my exhaust in the desert. Its really really loud tho.

When I was drag racing the GN I just ran a dump pipe. It was 3" and about 4' long.
