I wonder why no more arrival blue?

3500LLY
07-05-2004, 06:04 PM
theyre replacing arrival blue with a darker blue like whats on the suvs i think. I like that arrival blue though i was having a hard time deciding between that and the silver that i got.

I hope when I go to get my Dmax I can find an arrival blue crew cab 4x4 short bed. I really like the console that goes all the way up from dash to between seats. By the way do some HD's come with the fender flares already painted? I don't care for them black things.

3500LLY
07-05-2004, 07:19 PM
Im not sure what the deal is with those fender flares, mine didnt come with them but that might have been because it was a dually, i dont like them either but i know that if it does come with them theyre really easy to pop off and its painted underneath.

My white truck came with black flares. I hated them and took em off. It looks a lot better now.

For some reason GM thinks that some colors can not be paintedhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif I guess a bunch of http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif`s work at GM, or at least run ithttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

Sunroof and Homelink but only after january. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif

Whats the use of calling it an 05 if they are not going to change anything till after January? So lets see -- your truck will be an additional 2K because its an 05 but its exactly the same as an 04 - that just does not make sense.

Worse yet, chances are that they've eliminated items for cost savings.

Lots of years have gone by without any major changes. That goes for ford, gm and dodge. I suspect that there is a reason why GM can not offer the sunroof's earlier. Perhaps suppliers can't get enough built by then etc. I'm not going to lose too much sleep over it.

Speaking of painted fender flares etc. I ordered my 2004 D/A crew cab and picked it up on 06/04/2004. My truck is black and I knew my fender flares would not be painted. What I didn't expect however, was that the top of the truck was not painted either. Yes, thats right. 90% of the top of my truck was not painted black. It's just grey primer clear coated. When I contacted GM customer care about the problem, they, in so many words told me "tough luck". I told them that I did not order a new truck and wait for 8 weeks to receive it and for it not to be completed. They told me that all that they were obligated to do was to paint it. I feel like I have a used truck. I think at the very least when one pays that kind of money for a new vehicle you would expect it to be painted. I feel like I have been ripped off and I don't know where to turn. I do believe that GM has lost me for a customer. With that poor quality coupled with their attitude who needs that.

Thats *****ED and has to be against some law somewhere. I would take some kind of legal action.

I don't understand why just painting it would not fix your problem? Its not a mechanical failure of any kind....good as new after its painted.

Unbelievable!!!!! Can you take a picture for us and post it! Why don't you like the idea of them painting it? Not as good as a factory paint job? Did you notice the lack of paint before you accepted delivery? Edited by: srode

I'd have to have a $10,000 discount to accept any vehicle with a sunroof. Nothing worse than having bright sunlight hitting you from ever changing angles while you are driving. Have a Benz and Nissan with those holes in the roof and have had the sunscreen back maybe twice for a few minutes and shut'em back up. All they do is rob you of headroom and create a potential for leak problems. Be interesting to see how much they will cost as an added accessory to the 05 and later on see how much they lower the resale value.

I never understood the attraction of a sunroof, or even the so called moonroof made of glass. My Jeep has one of the glass versions because it came from dealer stock, the color I wanted was being discontinued, otherwise I wouldn't have it.

I think it's been opened a dozen or so times in the almost 4 years I've owned it and that was just to exercise it so it works for the next owner...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif

What I'd really like to know is if the Vocational Series Allison is coming first quarter of '05, like the Allison web site seems to indicate?Edited by: Zeeb

I believe I read on the GM website that the power sunroof with homelink runs about $1,300 as an accessory. My question is that why doesn't GM have a power sliding rear window like on the old Bronco's or something like that. That would be better then a sunroof any day. Oh well, maybe one of these days. Does anyone know if you can't order an '05 with a sunroof til' after jan. or you can order one now and just not recieve til' after jan. Thanks a lot.

I got to see an 05 truck today at Mark Christopher in Ontario, Cali. It had the new higher hood and different grill. So, whats this that no changes will be done till jan? Looks like the change already occured. There is pics of the new hood and stuff on the chevy web site...

Don't know when the new Alli goes in.

The alli website suggests that it has to be in by Jan 3rd 2005... Sounds like possibly sooner. I'm quite excited. I drive a 2000 Jeep wrangler right now, but am trying to sell it so I can buy Duramax crew cab 2500hd! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif The sooner the new alli goes in the sooner I can buy!
