The cord was so short that it barley stuck out enough to plug in. Now they put a 06 air box on my 05 to help the over heating when pulling in hot weather, the cord will not even reach out side of the engine compartment. Has any one lenghend thier cord or can you get a longer one? They didn't sound like gm would do anything, so it is up to me , I was thining about splicing about a foot of new cord on it. any other ideas?

i just followed mine to the harness and open it up. had to cut some tape to pull it out, but there was plenty to stick out the front of my grill and try wrap in place. no more raising the hood to get to it. i didn't have to splice any wire.:grd:

i used a short extention cord (taped the connection up to keep out the water) and routed it out under the front bumper and zip tied the end to the tow hook.

A lot of guys here have mounted a weatherproof Marinco marine plug on the bumper...do a search on "marinco" here and there are some pics. Makes a very clan install and no water problems.....;)

I split the loom, cut the black tape, pulled about 10 in. of cord out of the loom, put it back in the fastner. had plenty of cord to come out at the bottom of the grille, and about 4 or 5 in. sticking out. Thanks for the tips. Trapper
