I have a gift card from 4wheel parts, and I need to spend it, so since I recently got a 6" lift, I need a new drop hitch. My question is which ones are you guys using that have a 6" lift: The 5 3/4" drop/rise, or the 10" drop? Help me out so I can order one. Thanks in advance! Here is the link to it: http://www.4wheelparts.com/4wp/products/productLine.asp?cat=ACC&prodline=4150&catName=&man=AMI

The hitch looks nice, but wondering how comfortable I would be towing something close to 10,000 lbs with the Aluminum Alloy hitch.

I've hear nothing but good things about them. Anyone have any experience pulling a lot of weight with one? Thanks for the reply yankeeland!

I also have rear ranchhand, 315's but I have 2" blocks. I have a 4" drop hitch and it pulls all my trailers level. I would say 5-6" would be perfect.

IMO i would get a black steel hitch because that polished aluminum hitch sticking out of the back of a black truck would look "goofy" JMO

I've got the 10" drop as well. I think you will be happier with it than with the 5 3/4" drop. I've got an 8" lift with 37's and the 10" drop is just right - plus it makes it easier to get in the bed! Pic's in my garage.

Sorry it took me long to reply but I wouldn't buy it. My trailer is light (5,800lb dry) and it fishtailed with weight in it. I used it once driving 60 mph and it was crazy. Without distribution bars it's usesless. Will NEVER do it again. That was $240 including the double lock that went down the drain.:badidea:

Thanks, I was just about to order it after I got done checking the forum. Guess I will have to find something else. Any ideas? B&W or who?

I installed a Putnam XDR hitch which raised my center hole up, got a Reese # 54917, 12,000 lb bar, 14 in. long. Has around 10 or so mount adjust holes.

I've got the 10" Rapid Hitch. I don't think the fish tailing has to do with the hitch as much as it has to do with trailer weight and loading. I've had my car hauler with 68 Suburban strapped to it fish tail with my Rapid hitch as well as a "normal" hitch. I'm not a towing expert by any means though.

Does anyone really know what causes fish tailing? I've seen some heavy car hauler trailers loaded w/ no sway bars doing 75-80 easy. I see sway bars used alot on TT's but now utility/car haulers. Any pointers would be great. Maybe more tongue weight?

P.S. I'm well within weight limits.

P.S.S. Sorry if this is a post hyjack
