I am not familiar with that unit. You are obviuosly hooking the wrong wire up to the brake light switch. The correct "sense" wire to hook up to the brake light switch should be spelled out with paper work with unit.

Check the wires with a test light is your best bet. I could give you wire colors but they might be wrong if it is a jobber harness.
