The 7.5 liter (a.k.a. 460) is a gasoline engine.

I'm not aware of any Ford 7.4 liter, but GM has one (454) which is also a gasoline engine.

Both of those engines have been made for many, many years and are very good truck motors. I have three vehicles with a 460 engine, they are all from the 60's/70's, and they have been very reliable and durable. But they are not diesel, if that's what you are looking for.

The Ford diesels are 6.9 and 7.3 up to '94.5, then the powerstroke which is a different motor but also 7.3 liter. Then in '02 the powerstroke became 6.0 liter.

GM had a 5.7 diesel in the 80's, then later 6.2, 6.5 and now the duramax is 6.6 I believe?

Bas.
