Anyone make a decent tc under that? And could I get away with just replacing the stock clutches and using a shift kit and tc to hold 450hp or so? You could possibly pick up a used converter from one of the vendors.(call around), replace stock clutches, and add a transgo for under a grand. It would all depend on how cheap you can get a converter. Thanks guys Even a Transgo Kit is going to require a drop of the transmission. Personally I would drop in a transgo Junior kit (or do nothing) and keep the power levels at bay until your ready to do a full upgrade. Buy the whole Transgo Kit you'll need the balance of parts later. MT Dmax Squid 10-24-2006, 03:52 PM I would say it depends on what you want to do with 450 hp.... I had a race tune loaded in my truck for some time with no problems... I could claim that I was close to that hp.. but I could never show it, unless I was pulling. I went through the same thoughts that you are having right now... all that power out there at your fingertips with EFI and no huge bankroll to buy the tranny... Well.... I just realigned some funds and made it happen... Ask the venders about used converters and also good used stock clutches. They might throw in the clutches for free.
