This may have been talked about already but I haven't seen it lately and can't remember seeing it eairlier. Anyways what does the t/h mode actually do and how would one bennifit by using it when racing? Does it protect the tranny while racing? I'm stock except juice w/attitude.
Thanks Terry

The t/h locks the converter in 2nd gear through 5th gear. It helps limit converter losses. Down side is it drops psi at the clutch packs on a stock alli.

JRmac,
how did you modify your turbo, I'm curious because I've been looking for turbo mods for the Duramax and haven't had much luck. Could you steer me in the right direction. What kind of mod is it, porting? let me know thanks..........sorry for side stepping your post tewitt, I think JRmac already explained the pros and cons real well. I run with the T/C locked when racing, but I also don't have a power box yet to make the tranny slip in 4th & 5th yet to have to worry about the dropped PSI. just my .02

Turbos are all big secrets right now, but new turbo options are not far away. I can tell you this my turbo is a factory model. I have change somethings but no advantage yet.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif If I find something that works I'll tell, just don't want to see you guys blow-in-up turbos.
P.S. My fastest 1/8 was with t/h off on a stock alli (8.43 et @ 83 mph) Also 3rd & 5th are the weakest gears when stock.
