Any reccomendations? Its mostly mud/dirt but a vacum wont take it off. Would a wet soapy wrag work or make things worse?

The best carpet cleaner I know of is called " Tuff Stuff " its available anywhere , I get it at Walmart in the auto section. Comes in a big red and yellow can. Works best if you spray it on and then brush with a short brissled carpet brush then just wipe it off with a rag and vacuum. This stuff will actually remove grease and oil from carpet as well. Smells good too!

Another thing you can do is open up the doors and soak the carpet. Take your finger tips and lather the carpet up. If you have one of those bissel green clean machines fill it with super hot water and spray/vacumn the soap up....if it doesnt work the first time, try it a 2nd time..........also use a brush with med stiffness brissles. A really hard brush ( kinda like a tire cleaner) tends to pull the carpet fibers out. once its dry give it a good spraying with some 3M scotch guard.

okay, how about this one... Do the little storage compartments on the lower ends of the door come out? If so, how? I thought maybe they pulled straight up and out but I wasnt getting anywhere that way...

I am pretty sure those pockets don't come out. I recall looking into that on my 01 and I am pretty sure my conclusion was that they don't come out.

If your trying to clean those out as well.........

Get all the junk you can out of the storage compartment.......get a nice warm soapy rag and wipe it out..............then get a little squirt bottle/cup and put some warm water in there so it puddles up in the bottom.................clean it out with the funnel that is attached to the vacumn...works great ( funnel info below)

Go to the auto supply store and buy a oil funnel with a long neck and a small hole at the tip. take the shop vac and put it in the large part of the funnel. mark the funnel and cut it slightly above where the shop vac hose sits in the funnel so you have a lip that overhangs the hose. ( i hope this makes sense). cut the small end of the funnel at an anlge.

Now tape the funnel to the end of the hose. You now have a vacumn tip that can get into some pretty tight places and will clean all the little crap out of the storage compartments in the door.

I run a detail shop as a sidebusiness and you learn about all these little tips and tricks.Edited by: NorCal 2500HD

NorCal--I got it. Great Idea. I ended up using a damp wrag wraped over a screwdriver to get the "GUNK" loose and then wiped it up, but your idea sounds much better! Thanks again
