: loose tailgate?

Just picked up my 2500HD back in March. I don't remember if it did this right off, but I'm noticing the tailgate seems very loose lately. Especially noticable when closing - as you lift it, the right side wants to lift out - like you're going to remove it. Once it's shut, it's very "rattley". Not too much of a concern, other than I noticed it seems like it's trying to bounce off (or at least sounds that way on rough roads.

I had the bed Line-Xed shortly after purchase & am wondering if perhaps there were some sort of gromets on the various connecting points that were misplaced when the Line-X people were working ... OR are the 2500s just notorious for having loose gates?Edited by: inte

The gate is removable...........

The right side is the one you lift off the round post it pivots on........

So although it could be a little loose, once closed and latched it should be fine.

When they sprayed the bed the tailgate was removed. Perhaps they didn't tighten everything down properly when they re-installed it. I'd check to see if any of the bolts are loose.
