I had my dealer tighten the fuel lines down, but I am seeing what looks like dried fuel on the head around the fuel injectors. Is this expected with a diesel?

I noticed that today as well.

I had a line leaking on the # 3 injector, and I had a stain of fuel in this area on # 3. I notice you also have an 01.
Could be tranny fluid from the dipstick just above it?

I have it on two other injectors as well. The truck is only a year old and the dealer cleaned off the seepage when he tightened the fuel lines the first time.
That is strange. Never saw that before.

I'm surprised nobody has seen this....Here is the problem:
Your injector supply line needs to be torqued properly. Mine was leaking at the SAME injector supply line you are showing in the picture. If you already had this done, you may be seeing old dried fuel that collected dirt. Try wiping it off and look for further leakage in the future.
My engine smelled slightly of raw diesel. Took it in, they torqued the nut and done deal. Other supply lines may be harder to get to and require MINIMAL disassembly to tighten. Otherwise, very simple and has not re-occured. SPICEREdited by: SPICER

Thanks Spicer,
They did torque these once and cleaned off the old fuel. I will have them do it again and see if it comes back.

I have the same spot with what seems to be diesel fuel. My #5 cylinder injector seems to be way out of balance and causes a misfire. I plan to have all 8 of my injectors replaced on recall for the 01's. Fourbeer, what year is your truck? Edited by: duramax hd
