Now have over 10K on this new machine. Really have to look real hard to pretend something might be wrong with it. . . . well, there is one question. Daily driving is on two lane highway usually around 60 MPH. I have noticed the tranny only stays in 3rd gear about 3 seconds max as it goes through the gears. I am going on vacation in couple of weeks and will be dragging a 6700# camper. Question is would I gain anything from having the dealer re-flashing the tranny/duramax so the ally would re-learn while pulling, or will it re-learn while pulling on it's own? Or, is 3rd doing what it is suppose to be doing? I just thought it shouls stay in 3rd longer like the other gears.

upshifts are determined by output shaft rpm. I would guess that its getting that rpm quick enough that it dont need much time in 3rd
