Hello,

I have an '06 2500hd CC with the blue granite metallic color. The front passenger side door is a noticably darker shade than the surrounding paint. I was under the impression that the trucks were painted all at once and not piecemeal. Any idea what would cause this?

Thanks, Tim

My guess is something happened on the lot? Lot boy dinged it and the dealers bodyshop repaired it?

It probably got damaged in transit, and the dealer you got it from repaired it. Happens all the time. Lots of new cars get butchered in the bodyshop and the dealer doesn't have to tell you squat.....
If your dealer won't fess up it could have happened anywhere from, the factory, the transport company or the dealer your dealer got it from.
Most people never notice because you just EXPECT that your Brand New car is perfect.

Wow, Krusty that is an awesome truck. Is there a dent or warble in the extended cab? Thought I saw something in the photo..... Maybe it's just mottled paint.........................

Probably been touched up. These are large trucks to be hauled on a car hauler. As for paint, they are a rare color. Went by my dealer for a warranty touchup. He said he would not touch the paint:badidea: . I was kinda with him too. Hard to make right. Paint was chipping up by third brake light probably from poor assembly. Very minor, so dealer just gave me a small can of paint. I would rather just "touch" it up than respray panel. Look around your door frame for a rough edge. That will tell....
