This for DmaxalliTech.

My work truck is 2001 3500 Cab and chassis w/the 8.1 and custom 11' plumbing bed on it. The problem I have is the parking brake. The truck has 57,000 miles on it and I had the rear pads replace at about 42,000 miles. The dealer did all the work and adjustments. The parking brake worked fine for awhile, but now goes all the way to the floor. The dealer says that they have to pull the axles to make any adjustments. I think this is B.S.http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif. I would like your help or any opinion on this.

Thanks

Unless you have Dual rear wheels, they are mistaken. The rotor slides off after brake caliper removal. With duals, the hub and rotor are one.

We have had alot of problems with the park brake actuators. May need new park brake shoes and actuators... (this is separate from the disc brake pads)

Hi Ed,

Thanks for the feed back, but this truck is a dually. Still wait-in to here from DmaxalliTech.

There is a slot in the top of the backing plate to access the parking brake adjusters. It's very tight between it and the spring so you will have to experiment with different lenght/bend adjuster tools.
