Minn-Kota 07-01-2004, 08:15 PM Found this tonight. Can't say it's valid or not, but definitely a possibility from the description of what they planned to do.

CalDirt 07-01-2004, 09:19 PM sweet - the "bulge" is back! and if they ship with color-matched door handles it'd be a welcome change. now if they can just figure out that color matched mirrors and front ends would be nice.... http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Hug.gif
that metallic grill border thingy is gonnna have to go though.

Thanks, I see it nowhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
cdn111 07-01-2004, 11:08 PM Yeah those color matched handles would kick @$$. I bet that this picture is very close, but I would look for a solid bar like on the current models through the bowtie..who knows though, I have been wrong before, once.
bartman 07-01-2004, 11:15 PM What you see in that picture is the exact picture that GM sent to us today (all chevy dealers)across the US...so it looks pretty official.

Where'd they send it? via mail or dealerworld?
TEXMudder 07-02-2004, 12:16 AM The Chevy with a buldge was in the background on the TV show Trucks when they were working on some other truck. I thought there was something different about it. It was the hood.
bryan 07-02-2004, 09:18 PM saw it at the texas fair. it's not the next duramax/silverado from what i saw. it had a different name that i can't remember. it was last year, so i'm going to have to dig up some pics.

Minn-Kota 07-02-2004, 09:34 PM Yeah, that's the same thing posted above....
I meant to say the Venezuela, not Argentina, Chevy site is where I've seen the bulged hood.

3500LLY 07-03-2004, 01:12 AM Its a bulged hood but the upper section of that grille looks like it was smashed down. The first picture posted above was a picture of the cheyenne concept...Havent heard much talk about that lately, anyone know anything about it?
Dmax Tim 07-03-2004, 05:07 AM The Chevy is STILL ugly, buy a GMC and be done w/ it http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
They don't have to keep playing w/ the hood to try and sell trucks.
Yeah, that's the same thing posted above....

Whatever you're doing makes it hard to view the pics. I downloaded and uploaded to the forum so everybody could see it. Thanks for the pics.
Minn-Kota 07-03-2004, 12:03 PM OK, uploaded the pic from my PC and it should be better than posting the link to the pic. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gifEdited by: Minn-Kota
Ray403Dmax 07-03-2004, 12:38 PM It still looks funny from the side. GM can keep changing things, but until those funky headlights go, it will always look strange to me.
hdmax 07-03-2004, 08:00 PM The grill looks good, but not enough difference in the hood.
allstok03Dmax 07-03-2004, 08:25 PM When is GM gonna get the hint that the wheels they put on there truck look like SH*T.

mahalkita 07-03-2004, 09:55 PM That hood looks nice but I am shocked by the grille. Actually its not directly the grille but the matchup to the lights. If there is no nice aftermarked grille to match the ligths I would not buy it like that. But maybe in reality it looks nicer than on that picture.
Looks like I have to study the GMC version in more detail...
CalDirt 07-03-2004, 10:04 PM I agree - that is one ugly-ass grille. Chevy seems to be hiring design engineers from Mars while Dodge, GM and Ford (and Chevy until 2001) have hired them from Venus. I'll take Venus. ;)
CalDirt 07-03-2004, 10:06 PM When is GM gonna get the hint that the wheels they put on there truck look like SH*T.
I think they got it a long time ago and do that on purpose to keep the after-market industry viable. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif
hdmax 07-03-2004, 11:01 PM I think the GM wheels are as nice as about any after market company. Just take a good look at most after market wheels once they spend a couple winters in the salt. My GM wheels still look new, and I have had weld wheels that when new looked as nice as any chrome wheel ever made, but after two years looked like chit.
allstok03Dmax 07-04-2004, 12:55 AM Not on the 2500's. those wheels are nice. the 3500 dually trucks. I know quite a few people with the duallies that just can't stand the wheels on the truck. and unlike most of us, they don't care about dumping a bunch of money on aftermarket wheels. Sorry about the mix up. I'm kinda not all there right now. the past couple of days have been pretty SH*TTTY.

Topgas 07-04-2004, 09:05 AM GM should fire their gay design team. I swear they're accountants designing these things.

Ditto, and I hate to quote your entire message however, I can not agree with you more. In fact the GM wheels are better looking than most aftermarket wheels. In addition, I have not seen any aftermarket wheel that look good enough to go on my baby.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Hug.gifEdited by: Melvin Hatcher
ockgator 07-05-2004, 10:13 PM mmmmm hood bulge, grille shape, wonder if the folks at GM whopped themselves in the head for screwing up the front ends in the first place..... re my 02 front
ockgator 07-05-2004, 10:15 PM OOHHHH another thing.... my body side mouldings go all the way to my rear fender and no waves... think I'll have to keep the gas guzzler
maynard9089 07-05-2004, 11:12 PM Topgas- as a GM employee I can assure you that you have hit the nail on the head. At work it seems that all the individuals that are making any of the real decisions have accounting degrees. We even have maintenence supervisors that are accountants.
hdmax 07-06-2004, 09:53 PM Looks like GM has made up their mind`s to make changes every 2 years or sohttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif Keeps the new trucks fresh lookinghttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Fresh but come on.
Ray403Dmax 07-07-2004, 01:50 AM The problem with GM's fresh look strategy is it's suppose to make you want to buy them. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

I agree with both you and hoot. I do not care for the look, but either people don't care what it looks like as long as it has CHEVY wrote on it somewhere, or they like the new look. Because GM is selling more Chevy and GMC full size pickup trucks each of the last two years.
I guess it's damned if they do, and damned if they don't. Change every 2-3 years people complain because now they have an out dated look, or the truck looks the same for 10 years, and people complain because they all look the same.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
I really don't care, because I have the truck I wanthttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif
LARSONEM 07-08-2004, 12:25 PM I think it looks nice. Get your 2003 or 2004 Chevy Truck product brochure out and look at it. Doesn't the yellow medium duty in the left side of the picture look the same.
BuckeyeQuicky 07-10-2004, 12:15 AM At long last, a picture of the 2005 Silverado that we have all been waiting for, and passing up good deals on 2004 GMCs, to say I'm disappointed in the so called front end change and the supposed hood bulge and new look of the 2005 Silverado-HD is and understatement, those dam head lights still make it look Butt ugly, I know for a fact that I could carve a better looking truck out of a banana, look out GMC Sierra here I come.
baimpala 07-10-2004, 12:18 AM I know for a fact that I could carve a better looking truck out of a banana.
LOL, Is that a Florida saying?
Dennis
BuckeyeQuicky 07-10-2004, 10:12 PM Na, I just thought it was a proper response to the so called front end change in the 2005 Silverado, here I, along with others, were patiently awaiting a HD-Silverado with a nice big hood bulge, along with a more square looking head light design, a look thats more befitting for a truck that has a Duramax diesel under the hood and could most likly pull a house off its foundation, but what does GM give us, it gives us a truck with the same old looking front end, that looks like a constipated Chinaman, I Kidd you not just stand in front of one and check out the squinty look of the head lights.
MN_farmboy 07-12-2004, 02:09 AM Unfortunately the photo is a fake, Im new here but saw it pointed out on another site. Just figured I'd pass it along
Here's a link to the thread that I saw: http://forums.pickuptruck.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=359831&page=0&view=collap sed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1&PHPSESSID=
And here is the pic that was pointed out. Same photo, but it was zoomed in and cropped, as well as rotated somewhat. Then the color, grill and hood were changed in Photoshop.
Guess we will still have to wait and see.

BuckeyeQuicky 07-12-2004, 08:01 PM I sure hope your rite, because that picture showing the upgrades that was posted above, sure didn't look like there was any changes from the 2004, like another guy said maybe GM is keeping a lid on the 2005 and the changes, so everyone doesn't put off buying a 2004 and leaving the dealers stuck with a bunch of them on their lots unsold.
Minn-Kota 07-12-2004, 09:36 PM Like I said in my disclaimer on the top of the photo, not sure if it's valid.....just something I found that someone else posted as a "2005". http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif
That Venezuela photo does show a raised hood though. Much more evident than the red truck.
yamahagrizzly 07-12-2004, 10:04 PM well that was a very good job with the changing of everything. but the grill disgn did look briter and stood out more but it was a good job and clean so i didnt coment on it.
urethane dino 07-12-2004, 10:28 PM All the dually wheels have is an oversize center cap over a stock painted rim. I recently installed a set of simulators from
http://www.wheelsimulators.com
Very nice for the price.
