Hey folks,
A friend just pulled out his stock deck from his 05 GMC duramax and replaced it with a aftermarket deck. I have a 02 chevy and was wondering if the two will swap out. Both decks are standard cd units. There are a few features that i like with the 05 unit. It also looks a bit cleaner to me. I know that OEM doesn't compare to aftermarket. but right now i'd be satified with the few extra featrues. If the swap isn't to involved. Thanks

No it will not work. there are completely different wireing harnesses in the 03 an newer trucks.

Plus, you'd have to change out the dash module for the radio, find a way to re-fit your HVAC controls, buy a new dash bezel, find a Class2 source so the radio would work, etc, etc....


There was a guy on here a long time ago that claimed to have done it, but he never posted pics or how he did it.
