I found a DMAX that fits my specs except for one thing. The engine; it's an LB7. Should I go with this engine or should I continue looking for an LLY?

Get it. I have had both and the LLY seems kinda weak.

LLY seems kinda weak??? It may not be that much more powerful than the LB7 but if your gonna say the LLY is weak then thatd make the LB7 weak theyre basically still the same engines.

If i had it over to do again , i would prolly try and find an LB7. I thought it had more torque and funner to drive. Unless that is ...... The Edge Juice for the LLY is one IMPRESSIVE son of a gun !!! To much lag for me. It is a LITTLE bit quieter though if that is what you are into.

hey fastoys - i thought youre running the quad box ?? have you switched to the edge, and if so how is it compared to the quad you ran?

Thank you FastToys. I was just trying to be honest and i totally agree with you. My LB7 felt much better and there is a ton more available for it.

There will be more for the LLY just wait. By the time I get mine there will be a good selection I'm sure.

Yeah, it seems like a lot of the chips and programmers for the LLY have started to be released in the last month. I just ordered a edge attitude on friday and should be here by the end of this week.

I drove an '03 lb7 and it was a dog, I'm sure my lly would eat it. My theory is newer design and newer technology = better product. GM isn't going to take a step backwards, they want to move forward and improve on the previous model. I prefer the lly myself.

ya might think the lb7 is a little better,look at the specs,then go out and put a set of injectors in a lb7,I gaurantee your next truck will be a lly

Tbone, im still running the Quad till i can get an Edge for my LLY. Was just comparing what ive seen so far against my old LB7 w/Edge against my new LLY w/Quad.


Fire Guy, i took that stuff off of my 02 before i traded it in and then just wired it in !


Like i said , i hope the Edge box works miracles for my LLY cause if not i might be looking for a LB7.
