I think they use 'lost foam' method to cast them.

Don't know for sure - machined casting? I do know that the cylinder bores are induction-hardened.

Sand cast....maybe? I wonder....if it's made in Germany could it be vacuumed cast? That would be really incredible! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
