Ok, So i just signed up today as the new guy. I just bought a 34 nuwa hitchhiker 5th wheel and now need a truck. I'm thinking Chevy duramax/allison but I'm a used car kinda guy. What year should I be looking for in the last few years. I'm thinking 2002 thru 2005. Anything I should stay away from?
I would like a extended cab - long bed. HELP !

Everyone will have a different answer, but I think all years are good trucks. I've got an 2004.5 and have had no problems. I have a few friends that have the newer motor, but don't get the fuel mileage I do. The new 6 speed tranny is awesome, but the old one works great as well. The difference in the motors,
Gen one Duramax till 2004.5
Gen two Duramax 2004.5 till 2006
Gen three Duramax is the newest.
Friend of mine has the same size and weight camper(+- a few pounds) with the new Gen three motor and mine definately pulls better than his, gets better fuel mileage, but his runs faster with no load. I think it's mostly with the new tranny.
Hope this helps.

How many miles does your buddy's new truck have?
Everyone says that there is a 10,000 break-in point when the motors loosen up & really start to run better w/ better fuel mileage.
All are good, but seems like most think the LBZ is the best version of the Dura
