I was playing around with my Attitude settings and hit the light controll. After hitting it a few times a 'Disable Backdown' came up with a setting from 1 to 30. I never seen this before....did I open something up that I should not have?

I also noticed that my power setting(number) was flashing.

Help, what does it all mean.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

I have not had time to get the instructions.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

But why was my power setting number flashing?

I am getting the instructions out as I type.

Mac, you are right...not that I though you were wrong.

It just freaked me out that the display came up when I was changing the light setting. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

But the instruction book does not mention anything about the power setting number flashing. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

Pg. 20. Step #4.

Power level indicator will flash until the designated time for disabling backdown has been reached

If you have one of the first attitudes made (like me) it doesn't have that feature listed. It is also missing quite a few other features like a beeper, record storage and a few other things.

Tony,

Curious, why don't you send it in to be updated?

Mostly because the old version has km/h and the new version doesn't. I like it to display that corrected speed. And partly because I am lazy. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

Will the updated Attitude allow you to do power brake takeoffs so you can biult boost before it starts counting the time for 0-60 runs?

Minn-Kota,

Ok, but this was flashing on the driveway in park. Is the flashing a program function or just indicating that my EGT limit is exceeded?

It means that the backdown feature is off while it is flashing. Basically a reminder that IF you exceed XXXX° (whatever you set the backdown EGT too) the Juice ain't gonna save ya. It's to be used in the case of climbing a hill or maybe a streetlight to streetlight dragrace, and you don't want the Juice to reduce the power because YOU know that a possible high EGT could be achieved and can monitor it yourself...i.e. let up on the go-pedal.

I had to look it up the first time out with the Attitude. I was adjusting the backlight level and must have hit the button too quickly, causing the power level to flash. Found out when I got home it's because I disabled the EGT backdown. I don't have the probe hooked up (running Isspro gauges) so it really didn't matter anyway.

Doesn't matter if you're in Park or Drive. Just anytime the Juice is on.

Minn-Kota,

I am guessing that the 'backdown off' is reset after you shut down the truck. Because now it is not flashing anymore.

Thanks for your help again.

Hey, I also got your screen name correct twice in a row.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

From what people are saying, yes. I have never tried it myself.
