Like it says, I'm heading to the track in an hour. Apparently there's a Stroker over there with a 6.0L that wants me for dinner. Right now all I'm running is the Hot O/J in T/H Level 4. I've got BFG M/T 285's and was wondering if I should swap those tires for the OEM 245's. Will it make any diff? What other tricks do you guys use? Should I run the RPM's at 1600 and jump outta the line or just mash the go pedal when the tree goes green? Nick

while i am no expert but ive herd the guys say lower the t-bars use 4x4 and rev it as high as you feel safe launching at. if it was me i would rev it to 1900 or so. i chose 1900 so when you let go of the brake and the truck boggs it should be right in its power band.

i just noticed that you got a 6 inch lift so lowering the t-bars is pointless

also good luck and dont talk trash or else you will probly break something. go their being level headed

245's will make a difference but will also lower your top end. I'm not sure how fast you will run but remember you are governed to 96 mph? IIRC.

Here is a way to cheaply remove your top end limiter.

Traction, Traction, Traction.....yuor sig doesn't say 4x4 so if your 2wd drop the rear air pressure to 35 psi with the big tires. Power brake to 1500+ and let her fly. keep upping the launch until your 60 ft times drop or lower it if you fry the first run. Running the ragged edge between traction and slip will net you your best time. Don't drive through the water box. Your tires are probably less sticky with heat.

Most of all....Have fun!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Thumbs Up.gif

Beer ,beer ,beer ...

The more you drink the more you'll get out of your truck ... Beer balls they call it ... Fear of breakage is out the window with the empty cans ...

Have fun !!!!

I would think the Ford will eat your truck if he is chipped. The lift will hurt your time and speed more then the 285`s will.

I say go there and have a good time win or lose.

Quad has a 160 hp chip for the 6.0L Powerstroke, and the guys I have talked to that's running it and what I have read says the Ford would run 13`s with everything else being stock. But if you are lucky he is one of those that fell in to the trap Ford set, and he thinks his stock truck is the baddest truck on the planet.

It seems like nearly all the 2004 Powerstrokes are dyno`ing about 10-30 hp less then a stock 2001-2004 LB7 Duramax.

What ever happens, let us know!

Just go have fun, and if he wins bummer. at least you still have the pride of driving home in a chevy http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif he might even bum a tow off you when he grenades his powerjoke. all joking aside, racing is all about having fun no matter who's faster, go have fun and your a winner either way.

Well the 6.0 was there and he wasn't running anything. I tried to tell him I was running the box but he wouldn't let me get a word in. "Just get to the line and let me kick your ass!" Ok, then you old fart lets go. Like taking candy from a baby. When we got to the end of the track he took a hard turn to the left squealing his meats and headed to the exit. I couldn't believe it. He just left.

As of right now my lift is still sitting on the garage floor. I want to install it but a few rather large expenses came my way.

I did however get my ass kicked by a '69 Camaro with, get this, a 302. I didn't know GM ever built a 302. Also there was a 2003 Ford Lightning there with 15 in. wheels and slicks that ate me.

All in all I had a blast. My next upgrade is a Suncoast stage 3. I know it's gonna cost me but I really think it'll be worth it. At the track I noticed my truck losing power between shifts. Could this be the Juice de-fueling and saving my tranny?

Also does anyone know where I could find a Canadian distributor for Suncoast? Thanks for the help guys! Nick

if you want to dragrace on a regular basis and want quick shifts and lower et's get the ATS tranny with copilot

ATS huh? Is that setup suitable for everyday driving also? I want my truck as a daily driver and week-end draggerhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif

I see you've stacked the Juice with the Quad. Do those two together really make a diff compared to just the juice alone? Thanks, Nick

I'm heading up to Traverse City this weekend for the 4th & Cherry festival. I'm planning on hitting it hard next week pulling and dragracing.
