: Only 3 LB7 Modified tunes in repository
chamlin2 10-18-2006, 03:39 PM I know this has been asked mulitple times. we only have 3 modified tunes in the lb7 repository. i know i know wheres mine. Trying to learn it would like to see how every body else is doing. Maybe even a few post on what didnt work. We have a lot of post's asking a lot of questions and get a lot of answers, from the more expierenced! But...
Im falling in love with EFI live, and i bet others are too but i know theres more than 3 out there.
Dmax Tim 10-18-2006, 03:46 PM did u do the 20-20 tow tune of mcrat's?
could also look at the lly tunes, just don't have the turbo to mess w/.
chamlin2 10-18-2006, 03:50 PM I wasnt so much looking for the actual tunes.
Some of the post was looking for comparisons, But i know there is alot more tunes than three that everybodys playing with.
I have the 75hp tow tune from Trippin @ SOCAL DIESEL its awesome , great to build off.
I would just like to see what the average joes are coming up with.
OneTALLGMC96 10-18-2006, 05:16 PM There are only a few LB7 tunes because the LB7 is a thing of the past and out-dated:stirthepo

The older ones still run better.............
They get better with age..........that's why all the fast LLY's have to add a turbo or get rid of the one they have............:D

I see you had to add NOS to beat my stock charger LLY times....great job!

:exactly: :funnypost you can still look at the tunes for the lly to see what people are changing
Victory Red 10-18-2006, 09:05 PM probably because most of us have an Edge or Predator Or PPE or Van Aaken or well you get the picture.
Myself, if I could sell my Edge and Attitude for a decent price I'd try the EFI Live. However at this point I'd probably look more for economy than power.

Yup,
I don't weigh in as light as you do either.........):h
I bet if I stripped my truck down to your weight I'd be a few 10's faster.......not that I care...........:exactly:
See how fast your twinned turbo truck goes on fuel and air........hope you go 12.25 once you add about 500 lbs to equal my race weight..
chamlin2 10-19-2006, 02:06 AM thanks for the help.
and sarcasim:joke:

No, its because all the LB7's are already haulin a$$:driver: , and the LLYs are trying anything to catch up;)
kvs84 10-20-2006, 10:08 AM I'm sayin to hell with nitrous (for now) and taking advice from some of you guys about EFI live. I love the bully dog stuff but it if you wanna play with the big boys you gotta get EFI live! Could I still use my outlook? Does anyone have an LB7 tune that is kinda wild? Like Chamlin2, I'd be lookin for something to start with. Is a lift pump going to be a good idea? Thanks
chamlin2 10-20-2006, 10:13 PM kvs84
Guy at socal diesel gives a 75 hp tune with the efi live and a whole lot of tech support. i heard MC RAT give a race tune with his or did i dont know hp though. and ive gotton a few more from others to play with.
havent had a chance to play with them yet seeing how im 200 miles offshore right now but ive got a stack of them sitting here waiting for my time off.:offtopic:

Where you been hiding? I just wanted to tell you that my tailgate straps are still like new. Thanks for a great product.
To keep it on topic, I have not put any modified tunes in there because I havn't made anything that great, and with the tuners like we have in "Team Salad" I may never build tunes. I can not compete with Craig, he is one of the best we have for the LB7.
hdmax 10-21-2006, 01:00 PM 500# is only good for 2/10 at best.

Probably right, so then I'd be running 12.7's.........):h

Back to the original question... What kind of tune are you looking for? Mileage? Power? World domination? ):h
brandon.
chamlin2 10-22-2006, 08:09 AM mileage , power ,world domination.:exactly:
ultimately all together
there is no "guide" to tuneing with EFI LIVE other than what has been tried before. why step on a nail to find out it hurts when someone else has already said "ouch"
im learning it just wanted to see how far base i was

I would have to agree!

Makes sense. The reason I asked is because I have several tunes that I've built (100+ for 4 different trucks). Some are good, some not so good. A specific table number with a directed question is easier to answer than a general comment about the number of tunes in the gallery. Not trying to be a jerk, just trying to help. What table(s) did you want to review? I'll gladly post what I've found, but I'd rather post about a single table than 143 .tun files.

vasman 10-24-2006, 10:42 PM I would love to see a high hp tune then a real low end tune that would have the power from the get go off the line.
joefarmer 10-25-2006, 12:01 AM I posted this in PM, but here's my method...
Start with the tables in the DSP2 tune. The DSP2 switch and tune is the very first thing to start out doing. Once you've mastered the main injection pulse and the throttle injection base, you'll want to move to the timing tables. Change timing tables by no more than 1 degree at a time. Watch how the truck responds to your changes. Scan, tweak, drive. Scan, tweak, drive...
The best way to see where you need the change is to open both the tuning tool and the scan tool at the same time. Then watch the tuning tool, it should tell you what cell it's reading from if the cal_links.txt matches the correct logged PIDs in the ProgramFiles\EFILive folder. Drive the truck on the road and watch which cells the truck is running. Tune for those cells. Be aware that everything is interconnected. If you change your throttle base to use a higher mm3, then everthing that depends on mm3 (fuel rate) will be skewed.

how do you do this????
sweetdiesel 10-25-2006, 11:58 AM how do you do this????
nut,
just like he said have your scan tool open start logging and with the tuneing tool open with the tune you have in the truck at the present time
look at the tables you will see a grey curser moving along the values as you drive
now if we all had a roadrunner we could tweak and drive:D
PEANUTGRWR 10-25-2006, 12:03 PM i gotta '69 super bee reckon this would work ok it-------------------------------------ill try it again thanks
joefarmer 10-25-2006, 12:04 PM Yep!
Physically connect the Flashscan tool to the truck and laptop with the truck (truck started and running)
Open the tuning tool to the currently flashed file
Open the scan tool
Press Ctrl+F3 to connect to the Flashscan
Press F3 to start logging
Alt+Tab to get to the Tuning tool
Open the table you're interested in (remember to see which switch is flipped).
chamlin2 10-25-2006, 10:32 PM Now this is what i was looking for:)
thanks joefarmer sweetdiesel
