Have an 06 4x4, Jimmie w/ crew cab & short bed. So far no problems until you try to tow something of size and weight: you don't go far on 23 or 24 gallons or whatever the capacity "was". Fueling at a truck stop is easy, fueling at a gas station is a ***** with a 26 ft trailer: will I clear that overhead and how will I not tie up all those pumps etc.?
Yesterday we put in a 45 gallon tank made by Transflow. Metal tank that is completely galvanized inside and was very well made. So, it took literally an hour to read the directions (only one minor mistake) and about four hours to install the tank. Fits like a glove.
Gauge works perfectly but forget the estimated mileage; simply use your 'gallons used' for proper fueling purposes. I can now go about 400 miles easy towing and that makes life a lot easier for this kid.
Not inexpensive but you get what you pay for don't you.
