Just bought an '06 2500HD C.C. L.B. LBZ in North Carolina. Going to drive it home in January. My first Chevy after a long line of Ford diesels (6.9,7.3, 7.3T, and a couple Powerstrokes). Great sight here with lots of information.

Congrats on the new truck...I too drove Fords until I got my first 05 Sierra...Traded that in and got the 06 DMAX. You are going to love it. Drove it to Valdez from FBKS with a 21' trailer and had to keep looking in the mirrors to see if it was there. Have a good one.

Congrats on the new truck. As you can see, there are a couple Alaskans here. This is a great place to get information about your truck. See you around.

Congrats on the new truck. Alaska is one of the states that I want to go to so bad. I have watched several specials on tv about it. My wife wants to take a cruise on the inner waterways. Is it really worth seeing guys???

:welcome: from Florida.
Good to have you in the brother (and sister)hood. When you get a chance, go to "User CP", create a signature and list your truck options and any modifications so users can help you better. Also, create a "Garage" and post pics of your rig because....

LMAO...I'm not going to see the truck until January 14th...why?...long story. I came along too late and wanted to order one, but couldn't unless I wanted to wait for the LMM '07 models. Since the dealer couldn't guarantee one by end of January we started exploring other options.

We had been planning a vacation to visit my wife's family in North Carolina and stop off in Montana. At first we were just going to fly, but the costs were going to be dang near what it would be driving back to AK. I happen to be friends with a Chevy dealer in N.C...so I got the wife's o.k. to order the truck. I called my friend three weeks ago to order a truck and he said no way. He started searching the surrounding states for the truck I wanted and found one at another dealer. I just finalized the deal on Monday, but he gets to store it in a garage for me until I get there.

What I ended up with is a late build '06 2500HD LBZ CC LB LT1 with a few options like towing mirrors and towing setup, power adjust seat and deep tinted windows. Truck is Silver Birch. I didn't get the long warranty, but I did get some deep discounts on this truck.

My family..wife and 3 kids...are going to drive the truck back to Alaska via New Hampshire, Indiana, Montana and then back to AK. Should be fun.

I should have pics by tomorrow.

Hey Doug,

If you can't tell I live in Fairbanks, and by the end of Nov I should be driving your sister truck. 2007 2500HD LBZ cc reg bed silver birch, GMC. Don't care for the service at the Fairbanks Chevy dealer. GMC dealer treats me really nice. I may be a women but I am not stupid, and hate it that car dealers treat me like I am. Anyway enough rant.
Nice to hear all the ALASKANS.

Yes, while we skipped the dyed diesel thing, we are going to get ULSD in the very near future. The warning is on the pumps already in most places.
