Hello from England, just joined this site as i own a 1983 Chevy K10 6.2 na diesel.I see you recomend twin 3" exhaust pipes, my question is do you use modified headers if not how do you mate the 3" front pipes to the smaller standard header. I hope this has not been covered before.
The truck is in my workshop at thr moment haveing an engine rebuild, also a respray and interior retrim. Thanks in advance for your help.

Most of the people that have added the duall 3" headers have not modified the stock exhaust manifolds. You will need to start off with an adaptor piece to increase from the size of the stock manifold exit (2 1/4" I think) to the 3" exhaust pipe. I am of the opinon that equal length header pipes will help quite a bit, but most think the 3" pipe to the stock exhaust is all that one needs.

Thanks for the reply, I thought that would probably be the answer, but just wanted to check. I think I will open out the manifold with a die grinder as large as i can then make up a new clamp to accept the larger front pipe.
