Took the LLY in yesterday and dealer loaned me a 1/2 ton chevy to drive while they look into my surge issue. They called and said they can't find any codes or able to duplicate, so they are going to flush the transmission and replace fluid and filter because perhaps a little trash is causing a downshift problem. The parts manager is going to order me a front bumper replacement from Buckstop at cost because the service manager told him about my surge problem that caused me to bump into my gate and crunch the flimsy plastic bumper face. They are also going check to see if there is a fix yet for the start engine light glow plug symbol staying on sometimes.

As far as the glo plug light staying on, I had the same problem with my truck about a week after I brought it home. The tech disconnected the ecm module and it has worked fine ever since. Sorry I can't help with the surge problem..GREdited by: greg2815

SoCal Thanks for the weight info, I wont have a winch, and the 2 w drive has lighter f springs so I'm hoping to keep the front reasonably light, I guess the bucks bumper without the grill gaurd would weigh maybe 15 lbs less being it is made from thin wall tube, and the factory bumper is lightweight. I will probably take a 125 lb weight hit.

Does the buckstop bolt up to the same structure as the faux factory bumper?

I had a glow plug problem with my LLY in the first 500 miles. It set codes for #2,4 and 8 glow plugs. The dealer fond a loose wiring harness conector at the computer hasn't done it since. I also have a surge problem once in a while at idle. Haven't done anything about it yet.
