I have a 2005 2500HD w/6.0. At idle the engine lopes like it has a mild cam. If I slowly let off the brake from a stop the truck will jerk in rhythm with the engine. It does it hot or cold. Other than that it runs great. The stealer was of no use. "No problem found". I guess if there is no code showing they don't look into it any further. It's been doing this for about 6 months. HELP.
Thanks.
Mike

couldn't be for sure, but i had a very similar problem with my previous 6.0. The intake gaskets had gone bad and were creating a lean environment in one bank which caused the funky idle. I went through about 1500 in repairs before i finally found a technician competent enough to diagnose it. Parts and labor to fix it were 210.00 from a gm dealer. Evidently, these intake gaskets are notorious for going out, they are a hard plastic with rubber inlays.... mine was cracked in 8 places... just a thought...

We Have Had Problems With Dirty Throttle Body's Causing A Idle Concern.

Check the EGR valve pintle for a piece of crud holding it open a bit, this will not always throw a code. While you have it off, use a small screwdriver and make sure pintle slides smoothly from closed to open, if it hangs a bit spray some throttle bore cleaner in it and work pintle around.

The pintle is the round thingy in the middle of the base of the valve, it's what goes up and down (insert witty phrase here) to regulate the amount of exh gasses into engine.

Thanks for the replys. I'll check out these things after my long weekend camping. Hopefully it'll be nice next weekend and I can mess with it since it won't fit in my garage.
