I've noticed that when I have my factory fog lights on a lot of people have flashed their brights at me because they think i have my brights on but it doesnt happen when i have the fog lights off. Sometimes I just flash my brights back at them to let them know mine aren't on...Anyone else have this happen to them?

I have noticed that mine illuminate the ground about 3 feet in front of my truck...I wish I had yours...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

I've noticed mine wont turn on automatically.....biggest pain in the rear.

I would assume there are adjusters just like the headlights have.

3500LLY - yes! happened to me too. When I first got my LLY, I was getting flashed constantly. I thought I had my beams adjusted wrong but shop said they were fine. I didn't think about my fogs till that point since I figured if the fogs were on, I could be sure I didnt' have my brights on too. I've since just used the fogs less and resigned myself to the fact that I can expect a lot more BF'ers (bright flashers http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif) when I'm using my fogs.

I seem to recall seeing this in another thread here this weekend, except that guy would just swerve into the oncoming lane instead of returning the flash!

Sure do. Take a look down there behind them, there is an adjustment screw.

I get the flashes from on-coming traffic also. But I really like being able to spot the deer along side the road BEFORE they get on the road. Lost one of my trucks from a nine point buck that way. Chevy and $$'s go together, Chevy and bucks do not.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif I will put up with the on-coming flashes.

Does anyone know if there is a way to jumper the fogs, so they stay on when you turn on your highbeams, like I did on my Dodge? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

I was told that the fog lights will default to OFF everytime the key is turned off (at least on the 2004 trucks).

My wife's Pontiac GTP gets brighted all the time when she has on the driving (fog) lights. She has followed me before and those lights are definately very bright.

In most states it is illegal to drive with four lights showing forward.

The troopers around here have been writing tickets because of driving lights, the lights interfere with the oncoming traffic's vision. The driving lights should be shut off when meeting traffic to stay legal.

showing forward? would that mean if they are angled down it doesnt matter or is it just that there is four lights?

Doesn't matter only two lights.

Dude, that CAN'T be true.

With all of the cars on the road that have fog lights (and trucks), I dont believe your statement to be true. If that were the case I would have a slew of tickets for another car I drive. Instead, I have had none for the four front facing lights.

Also, manufacturers are putting more fog lights on cars than ever before. This may be the case for driving lights that project a beam at a much greater distance, but for fogs no way..

Go ask one of the troopers if it is legal to have four lights illuminated while approaching oncoming traffic. The trooper should have a copy of the laws on motor vehicle lighting requirments and regulations for your area. Most of the time they ignore them unless they are really annoying.

Actually you should ask one of the motor carrier enforcement inspectors at the scales along the interstate.

In KS, it's illegal to have no MORE than 4 forward facing lights on. I believe this is the minimum rule for the entire US....hence why every car equipped with fogs has them shut off when the high beams are turned on. I know this was a problem for Mercedes when they wanted to bring over a multi LED headlight. But I guess some states may have stricter laws http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
