With all the new products coming out for the LLY I thought I should let everyone know what the Maximum turbine inlet temperatures are so people don't start cooking the turbo. Garrett has designed the VNT used on our truck as well as the Ford 6.0L, and since we work with them we were able to get the test data straight from the source!


Max continuous turbine inlet temperature 1320 deg.


Temperature at which the Vanes seize 1400 deg.

What is the highest egt you have seen with everything stock on an LLY Steve?

Those temperatures are pretty close to the turbo on the LB7 Duramax , which is something like 1375* max sustained temperature,

Actually your grill is not so stock. If it doesn't flow as well as the stock grill then your intercooler can't remove as much heat, which would raise EGTs. Then again, it may flow better than stock.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
