Anyone have one, or know where I could get an engine block heater? or even if there is port to put one on the 8.1? Thanks.

DEWFPO Duromax04 10-15-2006, 02:41 AM The factory block heaters are actually one of the freeze plugs. They put a heating element down in the block and run it through the freeze plug. So, it would very difficult to put one like that in it. I would go with an aftermarket type, that is easier to deal with. Chevy2500HD8.1 10-15-2006, 02:51 PM Where can I get an aftermarket one? If you could find a place that is mostly in the Northern States, they would be more likely to have them, than down south.
