I got my stereo installed today at a local stereo shop and everything was fine on the way home and I went out just a second ago and my air is blowing 80 deg. and the compressor isnt cycling on and off, does anyone have a clue what it might be? I looked at all fuses and swapped relays and still nothing,I even tapped on the low side switch on the accumulator and nothing.. Its funny how everything has been fine until I took it in for the stereo upgrade. You think some clown let some freon out of the system? It worked fine on the way home though.

The AC controller wiring harness(es) are right below the stereo wiring harnesses. Maybe they unplugged one and didn't plug it back in or left it loosehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif.

I have the auto climate control and for the first time today (after 2,600 miles) the ac stopped blowing cold (in fact, it was hot). I shut the system down, waited about 30 seconds and turned it on again. She blew ice cold the way she always had and kept going the rest of the day. No idea if it is related, just thought I would share.

Silvermax,
Hopefully it turns out to be something easily fixablehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif. It's a bummer when you break something on your own truckhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Broken Heart.gif, but it really sucks if somebody else screws it uphttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif. Good Luck!

Well guys I climbed in the truck this morning with my wrench to take out the head unit and look at the back of the climate controls and decided to adjust some on my amps I fired up the truck and low and behold the air is blowing 40 deg. at the vent, colder than before..... that was scary.thought a trip to the dealer was comming. Thanks everyone for the help. Edited by: silvermax
I brought my 04 crew cab, dually ,fully loaded ,with dual temp control in for a/c service because the air was not getting cold enough.(it worked great from Jan to June) After leaving it at the dealer for a day it was returned to me with the teck reporting a/c check is blowing 47 deg. air at the duct with the blower in the lowest setting and the probe in the duct. i know have a permanant probe stuck in the duct and occasionaly it will blow really cold air In the high 40's but usually it is regestering around 70 in the heat of the day with the settings on high and full recirculation. The setting must always be on high to maintain minimal comfort durring the day. I have'nt taken it back to the dealer because at times it (probably when outside temp is low) the a/c shows it to be fully charged and in specs. I must say that I discovered this site while looking for a better answer to my a/c problems. This is my first diesel pickup and I really like the truck otherwise. Living in Florida with suboptimal a/c is ruining the GMC experience.(vehicle milege is still under 6000)

Go up to the Second Generation Duramax section, and look down to their A/C problem section. Lots of information there.
