How does the cold air intake systems work? Do they actually cool the air enough that it makes a difference? Just having a hard time figuring out how it makes the air cooler.

If you live in a hot climate would it be recommended?

It seems that all the cold air intake system includes a pipe, a high performance air filter and a larger container for the air filter.

It does not make the air cooler, it takes air from a location outside the engine compartment through ducting, which may or may not be cooler than air from engine compartment. It would seem a difference might be noticable when the truck is stationary but once it is moving I cannot see it being much cooler. They also flow alot more air although I would want to be sure I was getting the same level of filtration. I do not recal seeing actual performance increases for stock trucks.

in my veiw its just a big filter that flows more air than stock and with the silencer ring out of the turbo, the turbo is alot louder
