No I don't have one. I am basing my opinion on what I hear from others.

It does make a difference, especially on modified trucks. I'll just give you all the info I have and you can see the advantages. We tested the Duramax Fluidampr on a stock truck and found an increase of 6 hp & 6 ft-lb of torque. When then tested a 04 Duramax that was tuned we picked up 6 hp & 18 ft-lb of torque which brought the numbers to 465.8 hp & 944.2 ft-lb of torque.

The reason for the increase in performance simply by replacing the stock damper is because we are controlling the crank twist much better than the stock rubber damper. You will notice the engine runs quieter & smoother so you will be able to hear your turbo better. It will also help your drivetrain in that your transmission will shift sharper & the tach will not be as jumpy at idle. What you wont notice that you engine will is the longer bearing & valvetrain life. Because the Fluidampr reduces torsional twist on the crank your engine will last longer.

If you have any other questions I would be happy to help in any way I can.
Thanks.

I tell customers that as far as the factory warranty is concerned, by using a Fluidampr you are improving the life of your engine by reducing crank vibration. This leads to parts lasting longer because they are not vibrating apart.

Also our product is not like other performance products in that the Fluidampr is not intentionally pushing your engine beyond factory power levels. Our damper safely adds power because it is making your engine run more efficiently.

Besides I bet there are some dealerships that might not even notice the Fluidampr since it looks so similar to the stock damper. Let's face it, all engine dampers are usually overlooked. I also tell customers that if they are purchasing a Fluidampr there is probably another aftermarket part on their engine that has already voided the warranty!

Talk to Deadeye here (supporting vendor named John and owner of Dynadroit Diesel). I have seen first hand how it settles and smooths the motors idle RPMs down. I will be getting one soon as well to smooth out the vibs.

PM Trippin about what he thinks of fluidampers. I would get his input before I spend the money.

I posted about this along time ago based on my experience as a NASCAR engine builder. I also drew upon the experiences of my colleagues in Winston Cup engine shops to help solve a problem of destructive frequencies I was seeing in one of my racing engines.

I remember when Fluidamper was the hottest thing in the world for a gas racing engine with all the same claims as they make here for Duramax.

Go to your local race track, Drag or Circle and take a look at the high dollar engines and see how many people use them.

Also, call around to other companies that make balancers and ask them their opinions. Each company has their own way of dealing with the harmonics that occur in an internal combustion engine. You may find all but one, agree on one thing.

I'm only one data point, do the research, average it out and then draw your own conclusions. :D

Is that an advantage or a disadvantage to using the product. Turbo whine is cool the first month you own one, but it's pretty annoying after that at highway speed if you ask me.
